Thousands Expect Apocalypse in 2012

(July 6) - Survival groups around the world are gearing up and counting down to a mysterious date that has been anticipated for thousands of years: Dec. 21, 2012.
Across the United States, Canada and throughout Europe, apocalyptic sects and individuals say that is the day that the world as we know it will end, ABCnews.com reports.
Ancient Mayan societies, known for their advanced mathematics and astronomy, followed a "long count" calendar that lasted 5,126 years. When their charts are translated to the Gregorian calendar, the international standard used today, time runs out on Dec. 21, 2012.
Believers say there are other links besides just the Mayan calendar that portend catastrophe. The sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years on the same day, which marks the winter solstice. Some say that will disrupt the energy flow to Earth, or that the high rate of sunspots or sun flares that NASA has predicted for 2012 could affect Earth magnetic fields.
Scientists have tried to squash the doomsday scenario as another empty prophesy, but it’s clear there are thousands who consider the possibility of a worldwide catastrophe occurring on that date very real.
"You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left," Patrick Geryl told ABC News. "We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch." Geryl, a 53-year-old former laboratory worker who lives in Belgium, quit his job two years ago after he saved up enough money to last him until December 2012. He’s now stocking survival supplies, a list of which runs 11 pages long.
Geryl is certainly not the only one. Searching for "2012 the end of the world" on Google brings up nearly 700,000 hits. More than 6,500 video posts about the day have been posted on YouTube. There are also countless books on the topic, many published in the wake of the success of Daniel Pinchbeck's "2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl," which has been selling thousands of copies each month since it was released last May.
But what do believers think will happen on Dec. 21, 2012? Some say a polar reversal, where the north pole becomes the south, where the sun rises in the west, triggering natural disasters around the world. Others say the date marks a worldwide spiritual awakening.
Experts laugh off these notions. "These prophecies of doom really don't have any basis in what we know about the Maya," said Stephen Houston, an anthropology professor at Brown University and an expert in Maya hieroglyphic writing. "The Maya descriptions barely talk about this event." He said the Mayans saw their calendar coming to an end on the date, but then starting over without any catastrophes.
"Really, it's a conversion of people’s anxieties about our times, and finding some remote mythological precedent or prediction of it," he said. "People like to believe that ancient wisdom is somehow predicting this time of upheaval."

Will the World End in 2012?
Thousands Worldwide Prepare for the Apocalypse, Expected in 2012
July 3, 2008

Two years ago, Patrick Geryl, then 51, quit his job as a laboratory worker for a French oil company. He'd saved up just enough money to last him until December 2012. After that, he thought, he wouldn't need it anyway.
Instead, Geryl, a soft-spoken man who had studied chemistry in his younger years, started preparing for the apocalypse. He founded a "survival group" for likeminded men and women, aimed at living through the catastrophe he knew was coming. He started gathering materials necessary to survive — water purifiers, wheelbarrows (with spare tires), dust masks and vegetable seeds. His list of survival goods runs 11 pages long. "You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left," Geryl told ABC News from his home in Antwerp, Belgium. "We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch."
That's because Geryl believes the world as we know it will end in 2012. He points to the ancient Maya cyclical calendars, the longest of which last renewed itself approximately 5,125 years ago and is set to end again, supposedly with catastrophic consequences, in 2012. He speaks of the ancient Egyptians, who, he claims, saw 2012 as a year of great change too. And he points to science: NASA predicts a sharp increase in the number of sunspots and sun flares for 2012, he said, sure to cause electrical failures and satellite disruptions.
All this adds up, Geryl said, to unprecedented catastrophe. First, a polar reversal will cause the north to become the south and the sun to rise in the west. Shattering earthquakes, massive tidal waves and simultaneous volcanic eruptions will follow. Nuclear reactors will melt, buildings will crumble, and a cloud of volcanic dust will block out the sun for 40 years. Only the prepared will survive, Geryl said, and not even all of them.
These may sound like the ravings of a madman, or perhaps the head of a small apocalyptic sect. But Geryl is not the only one who believes in the apocalypse. Thousands of people worldwide seem to be preparing, in one way or another, for the end of days in 2012. Survival groups exist in Europe, Canada and the United States. A simple Google search for "2012" and "the end of the world" brings up nearly 300,000 hits. And the video-sharing Web site YouTube hosts more than 65,000 clips informing and warning viewers about their fate in 2012.
"It's bigger than Y2K," said Mark van Stone, a specialist of Maya hieroglyphic writings and author of a forthcoming book on 2012. "The year is like a pop song or a popular movie. You type in 2012, and you get hundreds of thousands of hits."
Dennis McClung, 28, a project manager for Home Depot from Phoenix, Ariz., runs one of the Web sites dedicated to 2012, an online survival supply store, which sells gas masks, knife kits, bullet-proof vests and more. "I'm not a firm believer in one specific prophecy," said McClung, who runs his site with his wife, Danielle. "But I think we ought to be prepared for anything." Even with December 2012 still 4½ years away, McClung said business is booming. His Web site, which features an "official 2012 countdown" clock and exhorts customers to "be smart, be ready," averages several thousand visitors a week. McClung's best-sellers, he said, are emergency medical supplies and water purifiers. "I get a lot of hits from India. I get a lot of hits from the Netherlands," McClung said. "But my No. 1 customer is the U.S."
One of those customers is Thomas Lehmann, a 25-year-old factory worker from Cape Girardeau, Mo. Lehmann said he started researching 2012 when he was 12 years old, and still spends about two hours a day reading about the topic both online and in books. He said he is saving money for survival gear. "Whatever happens, I'm just trying to be prepared for it," Lehmann said. "I'm just learning to be independent of the system. I mean electricity, vehicles, alternate sources of energy. I'm learning to live without gas, basically be self-reliant." "If this stuff does happen," Lehmann said, adding, "I have a way to eat. I can hunt, I can fish and I can purify water. I think it's people in the big cities that need to be worried. People that can't provide for themselves."
But for all the hype, there is little evidence the ancient Maya ever intended for the end of their calendar to be read as a portent for disaster. "These prophecies of doom really don't have any basis in what we know about the Maya," said Stephen Houston, a professor of anthropology at Brown University and a specialist of Maya hieroglyphic writing. "The Maya descriptions barely talk about this event."
Instead, Houston said, the Maya saw their "long count" — the longest of their cyclical calendars — coming to an end in 2012 but also beginning anew on that date, without disastrous consequences. "Really, it's a conversion of people's anxieties about our times, and finding some remote mythological precedent or prediction of it," Houston said about the origins of the current 2012 myths. "People like to believe that ancient wisdom is somehow predicting this time of upheaval."
John Hall, a professor of sociology at the University of California Davis who is writing a book on the history of apocalyptic ideas, agreed. He said movements predicting the end of the world often reflect a much larger nervousness about the state of our society. "Terrorism, 9/11, ecological disasters, floods and earthquakes," Hall said. "[There is] a sense that modern civilization has had its run. Those kinds of anxieties are much more widely shared than simply among people who believe in the exact date."
To Lehmann, though, those very events are warnings of what's to come. "We had Hurricane Katrina, the recent cyclone in Myanmar," Lehmann said. "We've got major flooding in Iowa. We're always going to have natural disasters. But they are picking up quite frequently now." Lehmann said he eventually hoped to move away from Cape Girardeau, built on the banks of the Mississippi River, to the higher plains of southwest Missouri to keep safe from the floods sure to follow the earthquakes of 2012.
Geryl and his Belgian and Dutch followers have similar intentions, though their plan will take them much farther from home. They are looking to buy a plot of land high up in African mountains, where they'll be able to withstand the monstrous tidal waves and wait out the cloud of volcanic dust that they said would block out the sun. Geryl said the group has recently zeroed in on a location, but won't reveal his find for fear of tipping off rival survival groups in the United States and Canada. On that land, Geryl's group, whose core membership consists of 16 people but whose wait list supposedly lists hundreds, will build concrete dwellings or outfit caves for survival.
After the cloud clears, Geryl said, they will attempt to create a new, better civilization. "A guiding principle will be to keep the world population as small as possible so as not to get into the same problems we face now," Geryl said, adding that the group is currently looking for sponsors and hopes to move to Africa in 2011. "There is too little oil, too little grain in the world now. Those are the kinds of problems we want to avoid."
One of the group's members, Jan, a 57-year-old carpenter from Amsterdam whose name has been changed because he doesn't want to be identified in the press, recently drove five hours to attend one of Geryl's meetings in Antwerp. "I thought, if there's a chance that we can start a new civilization, I want to contribute," Jan told ABC News. "Because whether I make it or not, and there's only a small chance I will, this is important." Jan, who has never been married and has no children, said he has lost friends over 2012. "All the people I've ever told about this have declared me crazy," he said. "It makes people feel uncomfortable. Now I just keep it to myself."
Geryl said he found comfort in sharing his knowledge with others. Since "discovering" what the future holds, he has written three books on 2012 and maintains a Web site on the subject. When asked what would happen if December 2012 were to come and go without the earthquakes and tsunamis of his predictions, Geryl fell silent. "I don't really contemplate that possibility," he said. "[My predictions] are so spectacular, they can't possibly be wrong."

End of the world coming
$200-million movie being shot in B.C.
Susan Lazaruk, The Province
Published: Wednesday, July 09, 2008

A movie budgeted at $200 million -- the most expensive to be shot in Canada -- is to be filmed for at least three days in September in Kamloops, Cache Creek and Lytton. Farewell Atlantis, formerly known as 2012, is to star John Cusack and hit theatres in 2009.
Ronald (Roland) Emmerich, who directed the spectacle event films Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, The Patriot and 10,000 B.C., reportedly has a budget of $200 million for the apocalyptic tale.
It's based on the ancient Mayan myth that the world will undergo a catastrophe on Dec. 21, 2012, when it will enter into a new spiritual age.
The budget would put Farewell Atlantis among the top 10 most-expensive movies, topped by Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), at $300 million; Superman Returns (2006), $270 million; Spider Man 3 (2007), $258 million; Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), $225 million; King Kong (2005), $207 million; The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008); Spider-Man 2 (2004); Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003); and Titanic (2003), all $200 million.
Local extras were cast last week. The crews will be based in Kamloops because it's the biggest city in the area that can accommodate them, according to the production company. Kamloops was also the stand-in location for other Hollywood movies, including The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, An Unfinished Life, Cadence, Firewall and Shooter. The 2000 film Mission to Mars was shot in the Lower Mainland and had a budget of $100 million US, one of the largest ever for a film made in Canada.

Pyramid Cave May Solve Ancient Mystery

MEXICO CITY (July 3) - Archeologists are opening a cave sealed for more than 30 years deep beneath a Mexican pyramid to look for clues about the mysterious collapse of one of ancient civilization's largest cities.

The soaring Teotihuacan stone pyramids, now a major tourist site about an hour outside Mexico City, were discovered by the ancient Aztecs around 1500 AD, not long before the arrival of Spanish explorers to Mexico. But little is known about the civilization that built the immense city, with its ceremonial architecture and geometric temples, and then torched and abandoned it around 700 AD. Archeologists are now revisiting a cave system that is buried 20 feet beneath the towering Pyramid of the Sun and extends into a tunnel stretching for some 295 feet (90 meters) with a height of 8 feet. They say new excavations begun this month could be the key to unlocking information about the sacred rituals of the people who inhabited the city, later dubbed "The Place Where Men Become Gods" by the Aztecs who believed it was a divine site.
"We think it had a ritual purpose. Offerings were placed at the very end of the tunnel as part of the pyramid's construction process," Mexican archeologist Alejandro Sarabia told Reuters. "We want to find out why the Teotihuacan people sealed it and when," he said. Sarabia said the tunnel was first discovered in the early 1970s but it was closed soon afterward, and most of the information about it was lost when the archeologist who found it died.
Teotihuacan is Mexico's oldest major archeological site and during its heyday in 500 AD, the city was home to some 200,000 people, rivaling the size of ancient Rome at that time, according to archeologists. Today, it is surrounded by encroaching slums spilling over from the outskirts of Mexico City, but swarms of tourists still visit the giant 212-foot (65-meter) sun pyramid each year to celebrate the spring equinox festival marking the sun's return to the northern hemisphere.

852) July 10, 2008      Another December 21, 2012 and 11:11 Sync...
I had to get a prescription refilled so I went to the drugstore. The pharmasist said it would be ready in about 10 - 15 minutes. I looked at my watch and it was about twenty minutes to 11 so I calculated if I returned around 11 it would be ready. So I wandered around Wal-Mart and ended up buying an alarm clock.

I returned to the drug store but my order was not ready yet. "5 more minutes," the pharmasist said.
As soon as I got home, I plugged in the new alarm clock and set the time. It was 12:19. I wanted to test the alarm to make sure it would go off so I set the alarm to 12:21. When I saw those numbers I immediately thought of December 21, 2012. Especially after my recent posts I thought that was an interesting synchronicity.
I then opened the bag with my prescription in it and glanced at the receipt... 11:11

So yet another "coincidence" pointing to to December 21, 2012 and 11:11.
And not only that, but an "alarm clock / wake up / time is up" coincidence.

853) July 10, 2008
I just wrote about John Cusack yesterday...

I was flicking channels and came across The Hour just beginning. George Stroumboulopoulos, the host of The Hour, announced the guests for today's program and John Cusack was going to be on. So I watched, hoping they would talk about the movie 2012, which, "coincidentally", according to www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080, is set to be released exactly 1 year from today, on July 10, 2009.

They didn't. Too soon I guess with the movie not even in production yet. They talked about another one of John's movies, War, Inc., which looks very good. But near the end of the interview, George started talking about Clash songs that don't get enough air time. John mentioned the song, Armageddon Time (Armagideon Time).
You can watch the John Cusack interview here: www.cbc.ca/thehour/videos.html?id=732371714

854) July 11, 2008

While I was looking at The Hour website www.cbc.ca/thehour, I noticed that tonight's guest will be Bryan Adams:

Read my Post #779 (Chapter 18-13) for Bryan Adams' connection to the 11:11 Phenomenon.
(After you read the above you will see that it is an even more amazing "coincidence" that The Hour is having Bryan as a guest on the 11th at 11.)
I was inspired to write a letter to George about this. I doubt if anything happens, but I will be watching tonight's program so see if by some miracle he mentions the 11:11 Phenomenon to Bryan...

Another amazing "coincidence" that I just realized...

The Hour guests were John Cusack last night and Bryan Adams tonight.
Back on February 22, my post #778 (Chapter 18-13) was about the movie 2012 which will star John Cusack and which I have just been talking about in my latest posts (#850). My very next post, #779 on February 29, was the one about Bryan Adams.
(There are also 3333 hours between February 22, 2008 and July 10, 2008.)
Is this not all just too bizarre to be just coincidence?...

855) July 17, 2008      December 21, 2012

Avebury Manor, near Avebury, Wiltshire. Reported 15th July.

From www.cropcircleconnector.com/2008/aveburymanor/aveburymanor2008a.html:
"The crop circle formation at Avebury Manor seems to depict our solar-system (not in proportional scale) on December 21, (+/-) 2012 - the highly debated end of the Mayan calendar (or at least one of the most prominent interpretations of that date). Whatever this means and who-or-whatever created this crop circle, I do not know - but the basic message of it is quite clear."

"Avebury Manor of July 15, 2008 reminds us that the Mayan Long Count calendar will end on December 23, 2012: by showing precise orbital locations for all nine planets of our solar system on that date, plus an accurate elliptical orbit for Pluto
The 5125-year Mayan Long count calendar will end on December 22-23, 2012. Given the long period of time which it represents, all nine planets of our solar system need to be shown in order to mark its end uniquely. Such a clever astronomical diagram was shown at Avebury Manor on July 15, 2008. All nine planets appear there precisely as they will be located in space four and one-half years from now on December 23, 2012, with one exception.

Thus, the outermost planet Pluto has been drawn in this new crop picture somewhat further to the right (or closer to Neptune) than should be the case. Yet Pluto still seems to be located correctly relative to the crossover of its highly elliptical orbit with the orbit of Neptune. Three weeks ago at Secklendorf in Germany, two different dates from the year 2012 were indicated astronomically in a crop picture, one of which (December 21, 2012) was essentially the same as that shown here."

"December 21 or 23, 2012?
Many people believe that the Mayan Long Count calendar will end precisely on December 21, 2012. Yet a new crop picture from Avebury Manor shows planetary positions that match more closely December 23-24 than December 21. To be specific, Venus and Mercury will lie almost directly in line with the Sun on December 21, whereas on December 23-24, Mercury will lie a little ahead of Venus as shown.
Since we are obtaining such new information directly "from the horse's mouth", I thought it more advisable to report the astronomical date they are actually showing us, rather than any preconceived date of our own. For example, modern scholars remain uncertain by two full days, whether the Long Count calendar began on August 11,12 or 13, 3114 BC."

Huge Ice Sheet Breaks Loose in Arctic
Source: CBC News
Posted: 07/30/08 7:55AM

The fracture of a four-square-kilometre chunk of ice from the largest remaining ice shelf in the Arctic last week is a one-way change brought on by warming temperatures, says a scientist who has studied the process.
Derek Mueller, a polar scientist and research fellow at Trent University, in Peterborough, Ont., said the ice breaking off from the Ward Hunt Island Ice Shelf, just north of Ellesmere Island, marks the continuation of a process that has been years in the making. "Ice shelves don't just break up. There's no karate chop," he said. "This is the result of a gradual weakening over time as a result of warming temperatures." Mueller said the changes in the shelf, which surrounds Ward Hunt Island off the north coast of Ellesmere, provide further evidence the planet, and in particular the North, is warming due to climate change.
An expedition by U.S. explorer Robert Peary in 1906 put the size of the Ellesmere Island Ice Shelf at just under 9,000 square kilometres. The ice shelf has since broken up into smaller pieces, the largest of which is the Ward Hunt Island Shelf. The total area of all of these pieces is now less than 900 square kilometres.
Mueller said if year-to-year warming wasn't occurring, Arctic researchers would have been able to detect some renewal of ice during the winter months, either through thickening of the ice or the spread of the shelves. But researchers haven't seen any sign of renewal, he said. "This is a one-way change," he said.
Mueller was part of the team of polar researchers that first discovered in 2002 a large central crack in the ice shelf, which had occurred between 2000 and 2002. An expedition alongside Canadian Rangers on a patrol around Ellesmere Island in April 2008 found an 18-kilometre crack along the shelf, a further sign that fragmentation was likely. "Ice shelf integrity was lost in 2002," said Mueller.
The 2002 fissure was blamed for the draining of an epishelf lake in Disraeli Fjord. Epishelf lakes are a unique ecosystem with both lighter freshwater and denser saltwater, with the freshwater component kept away from the ocean by the ice shelf while the bottom layer of seawater can mix with ocean water. The ecosystem is home to a unique mix of zooplankton and other tiny life forms.
Mueller said the next major epishelf lake potentially under threat in the region is the Milne epishelf lake, which is bound in the Milne fjord by the Milne Ice Shelf, the second-largest remnant of the Ellesmere Island Ice Shelf.
The ice island that formed last week is the largest to form off Canada's northern coast since the 2005 collapse of the Ayles Ice Shelf, which lay between the Milne and Ward Hunt Island shelves. The ice island that subsequently formed had a surface area of about 66 square kilometres.

The instant of greatest eclipse occurs at 10:21:07 UT (latitude 65° 39´N, longitude 72° 18´E) when the axis of the Moon’s shadow passes closest to the center of Earth (gamma = +0.8307). When totality reaches its maximum duration of 2 min 27 sec, the Sun’s altitude is 34°, the path width is 237 km, and the umbra’s velocity is 0.908 km/s. The Russian city of Nadym (pop.ulation ~46,000) lies nearby and only loses 1 s of totality because of its short distance (~14 km) from the central line (Figure 9).

858) August 5, 2008
I was alone for a few days so one evening I thought I would watch The Da Vinci Code movie to see if anything caught my eye that I might have missed before.
And did I ever! An amazing 11:11 connection that I had not seen before. Did you happen to catch it? I have not heard or read of anyone else mentioning this...
It was near the end of the movie. Robert Langdon and Sophie have just followed the final clue to the Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh, Scotland, and Sophie has just learned that she is the last living descendant of Jesus Christ:
Robert to Sophie:
Your name was never Saulniere. It was Saint-Claire. It's one of the oldest families in France. It's from a line of the Merovingian kings. Sang Real ... Royal. Blood.

I was so wrong. Saulniere (The Grand Master of the Priory of Sion) didn't want you to help guard the secret of the Holy Grail.
Sophie ... You ARE the secret.
You survived the accident. If it even was an accident. The Priory found out and somehow they concealed the fact that you were alive. They hid you with the Grand Master himself who raised you as his own.

According to all this ... Princess Sophie ... you are the heir. The end of the bloodline. You are the last living descendant of Jesus Christ.

Robert and Sophie then go back upstairs in the Rosslyn Chapel and are met by the members of the Priory of Sion who have been summoned to the Chapel. In the background behind Robert and Sophie are two stained-glass windows - each with 11 on them. An amazing 11:11 connection.
Is this another major clue that 11:11 is connected to the bloodline of Christ?
(Although you can see the 11 - 11 in the following picture, it is much clearer and makes much more of an impact when you see it in the actual movie.)

Another interesting connection is that in Knights Templar history Prince Henry St. Clair of Rosslyn (great grandfather of Sir William St. Clair who is believed to have built Rosslyn Chapel in 1446) is believed to have sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to Nova Scotia in 1398, perhaps transporting the Knight's Templar secret of the Holy Grail. (I was born in Nova Scotia.)

(August 12, 2008)

I looked on the Internet to see if I could find any pictures of these windows. I believe I did. There are two sets of two windows, each with 11's on them, so 11-11; 11-11. They appear to be located on either side of the "Apprentice Pillar."

And this makes yet another connection to the possibility that the Holy Grail refers to the bloodline of Jesus Christ. The Apprentice Pillar is thought to perhaps symbolize the double helix of DNA, thus symbolizing genealogy and bloodline.

So we have the Apprentice Pillar, symbolizing DNA and bloodline, with two stained-glass windows with 11-11 on either side, and Sophie, standing beneath these 11-11 windows, who has just learned that she is the last living descendant of Jesus Christ.

So many synchronicities and connections all seeming to point in this direction...

859) August 12, 2008
I had another couple of amazing coincidences that connect to this (Priory of Sion / Masons / Holy Grail / Genealogy - Bloodline) over the next couple of days...
My grandmother turns 100 next month so we just had a family reunion / birthday celebration. She is also coming to live with us so we are in the process of selling her house (the house I grew up in) and sorting her belongings.

We were going through a photo album of old pictures and there was picture of my grandfather's headstone. I had learned a few years ago that he was a Freemason and I wrote about that in my King Arthur / Holy Grail Connections chapter. I was surprised to see the Mason's symbol carved in his tombstone. Every year I plan to go up to the cemetary to try to find the family headstone, but I never have. But after I saw the photograph, I decided to go. After a little searching I found it. That was August 8.

On August 10 we were heading back home so we stopped at my grandmother's house to bring some things back with us. We were upstairs and there on a fireplace mantle were some photographs. I picked them up to look at them and I couldn't believe what they were of.
There was a group photo of my grandfather and all his brother Masons at the Mason Lodge. Another photo was of my grandmother and all the Eastern Star ladies at the Mason Lodge. There were also a couple of pamphlets of Mason meetings. One was from 1955 and the other from 1956 and my grandfather was the Wor. Master (Worship Master?).
(I just stopped typing this because I have bread baking in the bread maker and I smelled it so I just went to see if it was done or how much time was left. I glanced at the clock and it was 11:11. Wow :)
The photos are amazing. So much symbolism in them. You should see the carpet. It's a Masons carpet. What an amazing work of art. Next time I go home I am going to go and see if it is still in the Mason Lodge. It probably isn't but I am going to go check it out. The altar has the Eye of God carved in it.
In the picture of the Eastern Star group there is a chalice on a table. I asked my grandmother if that represented the Holy Grail. She didn't know. But can you imagine? I bet it does.

That was certainly an amazing series of Priory of Sion / Masons / Holy Blood - Holy Grail / 11:11 connections in just a matter of a few days - The Da Vinci Code movie, the Harris family tombstone, the Masons / Eastern Star photographs.

If you read my King Arthur / Holy Grail Connections chapter, you will see why this is all so ... interesting and amazing.
(I wonder if any members of the Priory of Sion have ever read this...)

860) August 13, 2008     11:11
I just noticed this today while looking at this week's Superstore flyer:

861) August 31, 2008

Another discovery to add to the Secret Societies file...
While packing my grandmother's belongings, I came across a document in a picture frame. It appears to be the original charter for the Bear River Knights of the Maccabees dated December 17, 1906:

It reads:

To All Whom it May Concern
We the Supreme Officers of the Supreme Tent of
the Knights of the Maccabees of the World do hereby issue and proclaim this our
Authorizing our truly and well beloved Sir Knights who are named below as officers
to form and institute a Working Tent of the
to be known and hailed as { Eureka } Tent No. 6 located at Bear River

I had previously discovered that my grandfather, Clayton Mullen Harris, was a member of the Freemasons. Apparently, family memberships in Secret Societies goes back even further. It appears that my great-grandfather, Rupert Harris (R. A. Harris), was a founding officer (Sir Knight) of the Bear River Knights of the Maccabees:

If I Didn't Have You
Amanda Marshall

I was alone in the silence
'Til I was hearing your voice
I couldn't see my way clear
Until you parted the clouds
And you gave me the CHOICE

Throughout this paper and especially in my slideshow presentation (myspace.com/julimullen or youtube.com/julimullen) one of the most important points that I am trying to show is that Life is all about CHOICE.

It dawned on me this summer that perhaps the absolute most important CHOICE that a human being has to make is whether or not to believe in God.

Perhaps that is part of the purpose behind the 11:11... in effect "parting the clouds" and giving you the opportunity or the chance to make that CHOICE. Especially if we are indeed in the End Times (Chapter 13 - 11:11), it would make sense that God would want to give as many people as possible that one last chance.
And as I said earlier in this paper, if you ask, "If God wants people to know that He exists then why doesn't He just show Himself?" (i.e. John 14:8  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.)
The answer is simple...

Believing in God would then no longer be CHOICE.

Perhaps that has also been part of the purpose of this website. In it, I have attempted to document and provide evidence to show the existence of God. I cannot "prove" the existence of God, or make you believe, but I have shared my experience and provided information and evidence to consider. Information and evidence that can hopefully be used to possibly help people make the most important CHOICE they ever have to make.

Fears of Global Financial Crisis Spread

U.S. President George W. Bush predicted "painful and lasting" damage to the economy from a failure to pass a rescue package for the ailing U.S. financial sector. "Congress must act," Bush said in a statement from the White House before the North American markets opened on Tuesday. The economy is at a critical moment and the economy is depending on "decisive action on the part of our government," Bush said. "We're in an urgent situation and the consequences will grow much worse with each day if we do not act. If our nation continues on this course, the economic damage will be painful and lasting."
Many global stock markets plunged on Tuesday morning as investors reacted to the failure of U.S. lawmakers to pass the $700 billion US financial bailout package...

Back in my Chapter 18-5 post #188 I posted what I believed to be a possible major discovery. I believed I may have figured out the date of the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation period to be May 15, 2005 (ending December 21, 2012):

188) December 17, 2004

What is even more convincing that this date of May 15, 2005 is "meaningful" is that not only is it 66666.66666... hours less than December 21, 2012, but it is also 2777 days (18 hours 40 minutes); and 4,000,000 minutes; and 240,000,000 seconds. Surely this can be no "coincidence."
As stated above, many people now know that the Winter Solstice will occur at 11:11 am Universal Time on December 21, 2012. But this is NOT the most important "event" of that day concerning "TIME", and no one (except me) is talking about it yet. It has to do with the 'Message of The Sphinx' with the Sphinx being a type of "clock" telling the "First Time" and the "Last Time." And the "Last Time" will occur that day at 11:11 pm Cairo/Giza time - or 9:11 pm Universal Time. The fact that the Winter Solstice occurs that day at 11:11 am locks the year 2012 into place.

So... using the date of December 21, 2012 and the time of 9:11 pm Universal Time, the May 15, 2005 time works out to be 2:31 am Universal Time. Whether or not the exact time is important, what is important is the day... MAY 15, 2005.
From: Sunday, May 15, 2005 02:31:00
to: Friday, December 21, 2012 21:11:00
It is 2777 days, 18 hours, 40 minutes and 0 seconds between those dates

Or 240000000 seconds or 4000000 minutes or 66666.66666... hours

I figured out (guided by GOD) how December 21, 2012 is connected to 11:11 and to THE END.
Did I just figure out that MAY 15, 2005 is the beginning of the Tribulation Period and perhaps the Pre-Tribulation Rapture?

Then a few posts later, it was pointed out to me that not only was it 2777 days, but it was also 7 years 7 months 7 days between May 15, 2006 and December 21, 2012, providing even more convincing evidence that this May 15, 2005 date was possibility correct:

195) February 1, 2005
I received an email yesterday from another person I correspond with, Alastair, who made another significant find which I must definitely add here.
Back in #188, I say that the fact that there are 2777 days between May 15, 2005 and December 21, 2012 is "meaningful" because 777 is a very significant number:

What is even more convincing that this date of May 15, 2005 is "meaningful" is that not only is it 66666.66666... hours less than December 21, 2012, but it is also 2777 days (18 hours 40 minutes); and 4,000,000 minutes; and 240,000,000 seconds. Surely this can be no "coincidence."

***And what Alastair discovered is that not only is it 7 years (relating to the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation Period) between those two dates, but it is 7 years, 7 months, and 7 days - 777 !

Then in my very next post:

196) February 3, 2005
Today I thought to do a Google search on 'Tribulation 777' to see if anyone else had made any connections to the Tribulation Period and the number 777. I was surprised to find a book by Tom McElmurry called The Tribulation Triad 777:

This historic 777 DOW point drop - and the days and circumstances leading up to it - are definitely Tribulation-like events.
I wondered, if my May 15, 2005 date was correct, how many days there were between May 15, 2005 and September 29, 2008:

Duration calculation results
From and including: Sunday, May 15, 2005
To and including: Monday, September 29, 2008

It is 1234 days from the start date to the end date, end date included

Rosh Hashanah - Yom Kippur - Hoshana Rabah
September 29/30 - October 8/9 - October 20

(I first wrote about this back in 2001 in my Chapter 16 - The Second Coming. That was 7 years ago.)
The eve of September 29 (1234 days from May 15, 2005) was also the beginning of the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah. 10 days later is Yom Kippur. These 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are known as the Days of Repentance and Yom Kippur is known as Judgment Day. The common greeting during this time is (translated), "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year." This is because one of the themes of these Days of Repentance is the concept that God has books that He writes our names in, writing those who will live and who will die, who will have a good life and who will not, for the next year. These books are written on Rosh Hashanah but our actions (repentance, prayer, good deeds) during these Days of Repentance can alter God's decree. On Yom Kippur, these books are sealed.

Although the verdict of God's judgment is sealed on Yom Kippur, I later learned this verdict is left open until the final day of Sukkot - Hoshana Rabah (which this year occurs on October 20) giving men a "last chance" to atone for their sins by seeking forgiveness and expressing faith and gratitude towards God.
In my Chapter 16 I also talk about how the time of Jesus' return is compared to the Days of Noah in the Bible, and I talk about the 7 Day Warning:

      Genesis 6:5

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt;
for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me;
for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold,
I will destroy them with the earth.
      Genesis 7:4

For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights;
and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
 Matthew 24:37

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

7 Day Warning --- 7 Year Warning?

864) September 30, 2008        THE END of 'Seeing Is Believing'
I created this website - Seeing Is Believing - in August of 1999. My "awakening" experience occurred on December 12, 1998 (My 11:11 Story) and I began writing my paper explaining my newfound knowledge a few weeks later in January 1999. At that time, I had no idea how to create a website. My experiences continued in force until that August I decided to stop working and dedicate my time to figuring out how to create a website in order to put my paper online. We had an AOL account and I discovered that AOL had a tool for creating a website called AOL PRESS. When I saw the welcome screen, I knew I had found the right tool. See the telephone number? 1-800-AOL-1111. ee the Eye in the center of the sphere of Egyptian hierglyph-like symbols? Even that little triangle looks like Triangulum (Chapter 14 - ORION). I learned how to use AOL PRESS and created my website, and for the past 9+ years I have continued to update my paper to share my experiences and new things I have discovered along the way.

Unfortunately, it appears that this is now coming to an end. When I uploaded my last post, I was shocked and saddened to see this message:

As of October 30, AOL is shutting down its web hosting space. In just 1 month from today http://members.aol.com/SeeingBelieving will be deleted from existence.
AOL does not have high speed internet so we recently subscribed to another service for that. The only reason we kept AOL is because of my website. Once that is gone, there will be no reason to continue subscribing to AOL. That will mean my email address [email protected] will also no longer exist. I will still be able to be reached at [email protected] or [email protected].

So it appears that "the end is near." I hate to see all this information disappear but perhaps it is meant to be.

I will spend the next month trying to back up my files and pictures and deciding whether or not to recreate and continue this in another format. If not, then I hope that my 9+ years of effort here has been of some benefit to you.

865) October 2, 2008
You probably noticed one of these two headers across the top of my website. AOL must have just put them there:

The symbolism contained in these words as they relate to the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, and especially after what I just wrote about the Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Hoshana Rabah time period we are now in, are quite ... coincidental ... to say the least. "Be Prepared"; "Doors Closing"; and especially the "Don't Get Left Behind" reference.
Remember this post? (Chapter 18-5)

For many, Morissette's music has become synonymous with raw self-expression and searing emotion. Her breakout 1995 hit, "You Oughta Know," drew intense speculation over its inspiration thanks to angry, explicit lyrics. Despite ongoing queries surrounding the subject matter, the Ottawa singer still refuses to disclose the object of her scorn.

1 in 4 mammals at risk of extinction, scientists say
Mon October 6, 2008
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Conservationists have taken the first detailed look at the world's mammals in more than a decade, and the news isn't good.

"Our results paint a bleak picture of the global status of mammals worldwide," the team led by Jan Schipper of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature in Gland, Switzerland, concluded. "We estimate that one in four species is threatened with extinction and that the population of one in two is declining," the researchers said in a report to be published Friday in the journal Science. The findings were being released Monday at the IUCN meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
"I think the bottom line is, what kind of a world do you want to leave for your children," Andrew Smith, a professor in the Arizona State University School of Life Sciences, said in a telephone interview. "How impoverished we would be if we lost 25 percent of the world's mammals," said Smith, one of more than 100 co-authors of the report. "Within our lifetime, hundreds of species could be lost as a result of our own actions, a frightening sign of what is happening to the ecosystems where they live," added Julia Marton-Lefevre, IUCN director general. "We must now set clear targets for the future to reverse this trend to ensure that our enduring legacy is not to wipe out many of our closest relatives."
The new report updates the IUCN's Red List of Threatened Species, which overall includes 44,838 species, of which 16,928 are threatened with extinction. Of these, 3,246 are in the highest-category of threat, critically endangered, 4,770 are endangered and 8,912 are vulnerable to extinction. The IUCN estimated that 76 mammal species have gone extinct since 1500. While the new report estimated that one in four mammals is threatened with extinction, the actual numbers listed were 1,141 out of 5,487 species. That comes out to 20.8 percent, closer to one in five. However, the researchers noted that there were several hundred species about which they don't have enough data to classify. They believe that the lack of information about those animals indicates that they exist in such small numbers that many could be endangered, raising the total to 25 percent or higher, Smith explained. Among the mammals particularly in danger are primates, used for bush meat in parts of Africa and facing major loss of habitat in Southeast Asia, Smith noted. The report also notes unusually high threats to tapirs, hippos, bears, pigs and hogs, while among the less threatened are moles, opossums and free-tailed bats. In general, larger mammals were found to be more threatened than smaller ones. Larger species tend to have lower population densities, grow more slowly and have larger home ranges. For land species, habitat loss is a major threat across the tropics, including deforestation in the Americas, Africa and Asia. Hunting is having devastating effects in Asia, but African and South American species are also affected. For marine mammals, the major threat is accidental death, especially fisheries by-catch and vessel strike. Climate change is also affecting sea ice-dependent species such as polar bears and harp seals.
Even though most of the world has been explored, new mammal species continue to be discovered. This year's species total of 5,487 is up 19 percent since 1992. Many newly discovered species are among those that are not well documented, living in regions in need of future research such as tropical forests in West Africa and Borneo. Marine mammals are not as well studied as land mammals and are more difficult to survey.
While it raises concerns, the new analysis isn't all bad news. It found about five percent of currently threatened mammals showing signs of recovery. The black-footed ferret moved from extinct in the wild to endangered after a successful reintroduction by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in eight Western states from 1991 to 2008. Also, wild horses moved from extinct in the wild in 1996 to critically endangered this year after successful reintroductions started in Mongolia in the early 1990s.
In addition to raising concern about mammals, new additions to the IUCN Red List include:
-- Indian tarantulas, sought by collectors and threatened by the international pet trade.
-- The Rameshwaram parachute spider has been listed as critically endangered due to habitat loss.
-- The squaretail coral grouper from the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific has been listed as vulnerable because it has become a luxury food.
-- In Costa Rica, Holdridge's toad moved from critically endangered to extinct, as it has not been seen since 1986, despite intensive surveys.
-- La Palma giant lizard, found on the Canary Island of La Palma and thought to have become extinct in the last 500 years, was rediscovered last year and is now listed as critically endangered.
IUCN also said it is issuing a Sampled Red List Index, developed in collaboration with the Zoological Society of London. The index takes a random sample of species from a taxonomic group to calculate the trends in extinction risk within that group. It can be used to calculate trends much like an exit poll from a voting station. The IUCN describes itself as the world global environmental network. It is made up of more than 1,000 government and nongovernment organizations and almost 11,000 volunteer scientists in more than 160 countries. The research for the report took five years and involved more than 1,700 scientists around the world.

A small, newly-discovered asteroid named 2008 TC3 is approaching Earth and chances are better than 99.8% that it will hit. Steve Chesley of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory estimates that atmospheric entry will occur on Oct 7th at 0246 UTC over northern Sudan to the Red Sea. Measuring only a few meters across, the space rock poses no threat to people or structures on the ground, but it should create a spectacular fireball, releasing about a kiloton of TNT in energy as it disintegrates and explodes in the atmosphere. Asteroids of this size hit Earth every few months, but this is the first time one has been discovered before it hit.

869) October 7, 2008

On Oct. 7th, asteroid 2008 TC3 hit Earth and exploded in the atmosphere over northern Sudan. An infrasound array in Kenya recorded the impact. Dr. Peter Brown of the University of Western Ontario has inspected the data and he estimates that the asteroid hit at 0243 UTC with an energy between 1.1 and 2.1 kilotons of TNT. Most of the 3-meter-wide space rock should have been vaporized in the atmosphere with only small pieces reaching the ground as meteorites.
No pictures of the fireball have been submitted; the impact occurred in a remote area with few and possibly no onlookers capable of recording the event. So far, the only report of a visual sighting comes from Jacob Kuiper, General Aviation meteorologist at the National Weather Service in the Netherlands: "Half an hour before the predicted impact of asteroid 2008 TC3, I informed an official of Air-France-KLM at Amsterdam airport about the possibility that crews of their airliners in the vicinity of impact would have a chance to see a fireball. And it was a success! I have received confirmation that a KLM airliner, roughly 750 nautical miles southwest of the predicted atmospheric impact position, has observed a short flash just before the expected impact time 0246 UTC. Because of the distance it was not a very large phenomenon, but still a confirmation that some bright meteor has been seen in the predicted direction. Projected on an infrared satellite-image of Meteosat-7 of 0300 UTC, I have indicated the position of the plane (+) and the predicted impact area in Sudan (0)."
2008 TC3 was discovered on Oct. 6th by astronomers using the Mt. Lemmon telescope in Arizona as part of the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey for near-Earth objects. Asteroids the size of 2008 TC3 hit Earth 5 to 10 times a year, but this is the first time one has been discovered before it hit.

DRACONID METEOR SHOWER: The pelting continues. One day after asteroid 2008 TC3 hit Earth, a stream of dust from comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner is doing the same. The result is a minor shower of meteors emerging from the northern constellation Draco. At maximum on Oct. 8th, the Draconids are expected to produce a few to 10 meteors per hour.
